The Black Gold
The inspiration for this film came from a critical look at the manufacture of Caviar, what makes caviar so expensive?
During the preparations I went to Royal Belgian Caviar in Turnhout. There I was shown the life cycle of the sturgeon.
The circle as a recurring element is the basis for the moving drawing. Between life and death there is a small border, it can take years to grow, but a second to end. I turned this long process into 2 minutes of animation.
